Mike Williams has a great resource for using the Google Maps API. On his site I found images of all the available icons used with Google Earth.

As Mike states, each icon is a 32x32 pixel PNG and each icon has it's own shadow image PNG which is 59x32 pixels where icon0.png has a shadow image called icon0s.png

Of course you can use your own images but if you want to keep some consistency here they are:
